Product Engineer
Your missions :
Starting by an internal training, you will acquire an in-depth technical understanding of Lambda-X products and services and their use at our customer’s premises.
For our range of existing products, you give support to our product owners in their customer service tasks, it includes:
- Understanding and describing the processing algorithms embedded in the application,
- Helping customers to operate consistently the metrology devices,
- Detecting rooms for improvements and suggesting product developments.
During product development and improvement, you support product owners in:
- Following up of user requirements and specifications,
- Following up development steps for both hardware and software parts,
- Contributing to the development of processing algorithms,
- Defining the test plan and performing the validation of the developed products,
- Generating user and support documentations.
You report to the Lambda-X’s Co-founder and Director.
Your profile
- You hold an Industrial Engineering degree in Electromechanics, Electronics, Robotics, ….
- Your academic background gives you the opportunity to develop your taste for physics and optics; which you are ready to deepen.
- You have an educational experience in metrology, product development and validation, statistical
analysis and Agile methodologies. - You are energetic, proactive, hands-on and eager to learn thanks to your listening abilities and your taste for high-tech.
- You master IT tools as MS Office (Excel), Python and ideally Zemax.
- You are fluent in French and English. The knowledge of other languages is an asset.
- You are willing to travel 10 to 15% of your time.

Customer Support Engineer
Your missions :
Field service, production support, user training and qualification as well as application engineering
The Field service part and production support of your role is directly linked to the calibration of our instruments following standard procedures; which implies:
- To configure PC’s and SW applications going with our instruments according to customer’s orders.
- To visit customers all over the world, which means about 18 to 24 trips/year in Europe, USA, Asia with a maximum of 1 week absence per trip. During these visits, you also perform basic cleanings as well as internal part replacements.
- To perform remote calibration check to assure recalibration certificates.
- To check that the customer is using our instruments correctly and answer any need or question regarding the use of the instruments.

Once the Field service and production support parts are assimilated, your role will evolve in order to develop user trainings and qualifications as well as application engineering, which implies:
- To develop training material on contact and intraocular lens metrology and the operation of our instrument and Mentor SW, ideally by creating short e-learning videos.
- To improve the existing documentation based on the customer’s FAQ to increase their autonomy and provide quick answers.
- To initiate and follow self-IQ/OQ (Installation Qualification / Operational Qualification) and PQ (Performance Qualification) by customers along with documented evidence that our instruments are correctly installed and that they operate according to requirements and expected performances.
- To take the lead to enrich features and content of our customer support platform based on Jira service management to pursue customer’s autonomy in using our instruments.
- To perform measurements of customers samples or for internal purpose and generate reports.
- To participate in the proposition, definition and validation of new services and functionalities of our instruments and their SW.

System engineer for optical instrumentation
Your challenges
- Under the supervision of experienced Project Managers, you work as a team member and you contribute to the development of multiple aerospace and industrial projects.
- In the frame of multidisciplinary projects, you are in charge of building up of systems architectures, including interfaces definition. You ensure that the selected components form a system that performs as expected in the targeted environment and cost budget.
- You review the specifications, you define the design, you drive the optical design, you select opto-electronic components, you integrate thermal and structural aspects in the solutions and you make the link with mechanical, electronic and software engineers.
- You bring creative technical solutions.
- You develop tests and verification set-ups based on dedicated custom-built instruments or based on standard laboratory equipment.
- You consider economic aspects while developing industrial solutions.
- You are in relation with suppliers for technical specifications.
- You look for practical production means for the selected concepts.
Your profile
- You hold a Master’s degree in Engineering or equivalent.
- You have a few years of experience in R&D (industrial or academic).
- You master practical and theoretical aspects of optics.
- You quickly understand physics issues and make the link with experimental results.
- You process and interpret raw data with e.g. Matlab, Python.
- You have manual abilities for assembling prototypes.
- You have competence in data science and/or in numerical analysis.
- You easily integrate a multidisciplinary team.
- You organize your work efficiently to supply your deliverables according to planning.
- You work autonomously.
- You have a very good command of English.

Project Manager – optical instrumentation
Your challenges
- Under the supervision of the CTO’s and as team member of the R&D Team, you take the responsibility of R&D projects aiming the development of new equipment or the improvement of existing ones. The projects to be run apply to any of the Lambda-X sectors of activity.
- You define and manage the project management roadmap, you lead the project team members (System Eng. , Software Eng., …), assure the completion of the different steps (from specs definitions till prototyping) in line with the requested planning, budget, quality standards, regulations, … and manage all the documentations and reporting.
- You are in close contact with customers and organize follow-up meetings to present results and status of the project.
- You are a major contributor regarding Lambda-X engineering activities.
- You bring your operational skills to assure the success of each project.

Data Processing & algorithmic engineer for optical instrumentation
Job description
You join the R&D team of Lambda-X. Based on good mastering of the physical optics, you are in charge of the algorithmic developments to convert the raw data from the sensors to the useful information for the user. The algorithms are specifically developed for the quality control instruments developed by Lambda-X in the ophthalmic market. You develop the method to extract the parameters relevant for the lens manufacturers to control the quality of the lenses. You contribute to the writing of the documents describing the algorithms. You define and perform unit tests associated with the processing data chain. You work in close collaboration with the SW team in charge of the development of the SW. You understand the physics of the eye.
You also be responsible for the development of the control SW of test benches and the acquisition SW of optical instruments. You understand the experimental setup to collaborate efficiently with the team members. You bring creative technical solutions. You are curious and you enlarge your knowledge.
